1 How did you first get introduced to your craft?
I have been a quilter since the 1980s. For 17 years I created custom fabric art pieces for clients of interior designers -- both commercial and residential. When I moved to Montana, I decided to concentrate specifically on quilt designs and patterns.
2 What type of patterns do you enjoy designing the most?
Quilt-as-you-go bargello landscape/ nature themes.
3 What are you most known for?
The above and patterns that feature large prints in easy designs and in multiple quilt sizes within the pattern.
4 How do you jump-start your creativity?
We live in the mountains so these natural surroundings provide me with endless inspiration. Also, two major fabric manufacturers send me their new fabric lines in advance, so I am able to design patterns that get the most out of those fabrics.
5 What season inspires you the most?
Winter, but also the changing of the seasons.
6 On average, how many new patterns do you design each year?
10 - 15.
7 Is there another craft you'd like to try your hand at?
8 What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
Walking with my dog up in the mountains and taking photographs that will inspire new quilt designs.
9 What three items do you always have in your craft bag?
Graph paper, camera, and calculator.
