1 How did you first get introduced to your craft?
I attended a quilt show with my mother-in-law and was inspired to make my first quilt – a king size log cabin quilt. I bought a Georgia Bonesteel book teaching quilting as you go and started sewing away!
2 What type of patterns do you enjoy designing the most?
I enjoy designing quilts that mix piecing and machine appliqué.
3 What are you most known for?
Joined at the Hip is most known for the Button Up series and Hanging on a Star series of patterns. They are fast and easy and designed to decorate your home throughout the year with monthly and seasonal designs.
4 How do you jump-start your creativity?
I like to go shopping or look through catalogs such as Pottery Barn to get a feel for the latest decorating trends.
5 What season inspires you the most?
The winter season probably inspires me the most. I love decorating for Christmas using vintage décor and then decorating after Christmas with sparkly snowflakes and snowmen.
6 On average, how many new patterns do you design each year?
I would say I design around 15-20 new patterns each year.
7 Is there another craft you'd like to try your hand at?
I love working with wool and I have several wool appliqué and rug hooking projects waiting for me.
8 What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
During the fall and winter I would start with watching the Minnesota Vikings. During the spring and summer, maybe a round of golf or a walk, and then a visit with the kids.
9 What three items do you always have in your craft bag?
Sketch pad, pencil and a big eraser!
