1 How did you first get introduced to your craft?

My great-grandmother and grandmother always crocheted and I never asked them to teach me. When my grandmother passed away I regretted that and vowed to learn how.

2 What type of patterns do you enjoy designing the most?

I don't really have a genre of patterns that I enjoy making, I enjoy the process of finding inspiration and turning it into a crocheted piece. A lot of times it can be surprising that something so small as a toy color can inspire a brand new design!

3 What are you most known for?

Character re-creations For example, I have a line of Rudolph movie characters from hats to loveys to dolls.

4 How do you jump-start your creativity?

I have several ways I get my "juices" flowing when I'm in a slump. 1) I ask my kids! I'll ask them to pick a color and a shape and go from there! 2) I research the current year's color trends and fashion show catwalk trends.

5 What season inspires you the most?

I would have to say summer. It's by far the hardest season to crochet for, but it pushes me to be creative and really think outside the box.

6 On average, how many new patterns do you design each year?

My time lately has been really limited lately since I started my digital magazine, so I am not designing as often as I used to. I really pride myself in being able to help the less well-known designers by putting them in front of our fans!

7 Is there another craft you'd like to try your hand at?

Every craft. Everything interests me. I just bought a loom I would love to have more time playing with, and I would love to have more time to explore bead weaving and jewelry making.

8 What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

I don't think there is a craft that I haven't done! I've tried knitting, quilting, sewing, scrapbooking etc. I really do enjoy scrapbooking -- it's so nice to give a handmade gift!

9 What three items do you always have in your craft bag?

I have my Crocheted Organizer Bag next to my chair that has yarn, WIP (secret pattern coming up!) hooks, notebook and pen. I never go anywhere without that bag!
