1 How did you first get introduced to your craft?
Growing up in Germany I learned how to knit and crochet at school. It was my favorite subject and I haven't stopped since.
2 What type of patterns do you enjoy designing the most?
I enjoy any kind of pattern. Sweaters are what I love the most.
3 What are you most known for?
Insisting in gauges and counting rows.
4 How do you jump-start your creativity?
My brain works days and night. I can't stop thinking about what to design next. My days are too short to design all the things I want to and so I keep a list of ideas so I will not forget.
5 What season inspires you the most?
I always find the right project for the right season so I can't say I have a special season. There is always a need for something knitted.
6 On average, how many new patterns do you design each year?
It depends on my latest design. If it is a sweater it takes me almost a month for writing the pattern and knitting the model. If it is something less involved like a hat or a baby bootie it may only take me a few days.
7 Is there another craft you'd like to try your hand at?
No. I am obsessed with knitting and crochet. Nothing could make me happy quite like that.
8 What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
I enjoy going to museums with my family since I can knit in the car and walk around in the museum. People look at me a certain way that I enjoy as I walk and knit at the same time and usually it leads to a nice conversation.
9 What three items do you always have in your craft bag?
Measuring tape, calculator and a pen and paper – the ingredients for a pattern!
