1 How did you first get introduced to your craft?
In 4th grade, my teacher Sr. Marie Cecile asked if anyone wanted to learn crochet. I learned to chain and rolled the chain into a ball. Years later I learned to do stitches off the chain by looking at pictures in magazines. In Girl Scouts I learned the granny square.
2 What type of patterns do you enjoy designing the most?
Baby, holiday and afghans
3 What are you most known for?
Easy-to-follow directions.
4 How do you jump-start your creativity?
I am inspired by other crochet patterns, sewing patterns and quilt patterns. The store of ideas in my head is endless.
5 What season inspires you the most?
Spring for the flowers and fall for the holiday designs.
6 On average, how many new patterns do you design each year?
We do about 80 new designs each year.
7 Is there another craft you'd like to try your hand at?
Yes -- quilting.
8 What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
Hiking to a waterfall in the mountains.
9 What three items do you always have in your craft bag?
Crochet hooks, yarn, pen and paper.
