1 How did you first get introduced to your craft?
When I was in high school, my best friend introduced me to cross-stitch and immediately I fell in love. To me, itís like drawing and painting with thread.
2 What type of patterns do you enjoy designing the most?
I love creating patterns that are accessible to stitchers of any experience level -- something fun or stylish that even a first-time stitcher can make with ease.
3 What are you most known for?
Bright graphic designs with a dash of whimsy.
4 How do you jump-start your creativity?
I keep an inspiration journal full of magazine clippings, fabric scraps, postcards -- anything that strikes me as interesting.
5 What season inspires you the most?
I love autumn. In Michigan, fall is full of so many wonderful sights, sounds and smells: brilliant foliage, brisk breezes, crisp apples, rustling leaves. And of course, autumn brings my favorite holiday -- Halloween.
6 On average, how many new patterns do you design each year?
I always draw more designs than I can ever stitch myself, so I usually finish between 10 and 12 patterns.
7 Is there another craft you'd like to try your hand at?
I would love to try making jewelry.
8 What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
Iím a classic movie junkie! I love a rainy Sunday when I can spend the entire afternoon with Cary Grant, Myrna Loy and Jimmy Stewart, while crocheting or cross-stitching.
9 What three items do you always have in your craft bag?
I never go anywhere without my sketchbook, colored pencils and my camera.
