1 How did you first get introduced to your craft?
When I was 10 years old, my aunt gave me a box of her plastic canvas supplies. It was like Christmas to me. That’s when the wheels began to turn and I decided how fun designing my own projects might be.
2 What type of patterns do you enjoy designing the most?
Plastic canvas. My main desire is to design things that are eye catching and different, out of the norm.
3 What are you most known for?
Probably the Enchanted Train. I originally designed it for 12” fashion dolls and it was stitched in purple, green, and pink. I’ve since been re-stitching a more realistic engine to target the regular train enthusiasts, and I hope to eventually complete a 4-5 car collection.
4 How do you jump-start your creativity?
Coffee!
5 What season inspires you the most?
I feel the most inspired by spring, when outdoor life is reproducing and warming up.
6 On average, how many new patterns do you design each year?
The number definitely fluctuates, but I would say around 30.
7 Is there another craft you'd like to try your hand at?
Crochet, punch needle, and mosaics.
8 What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
With a good smelling meal in the crockpot and a happy family waiting to eat!
9 What three items do you always have in your craft bag?
Plastic canvas materials, sissors, patterns
